Monterebro Barrica
Ultra-Premium Red Wine from Jumilla > Spain > Dry Red Wine > Monastrell.
The grapes used for Monterebro Barrica are picked from old vineyards in the northwest of Jumilla. Very intense, with a vivid morello cherry red colour. Clean, complex, powerful aromas. Very attractive ripe fruity scents with a hint of quality oak. Well-balanced on the palate, with a good structure. Full bodied, persistent, and tasty.
Designation of Origin: D.O.P. Jumilla, Spain.
Grape Variety: Monastrell 85% Shiraz 15%
Oak Aging: 4 months in French and American oak barrels (50/50).
Presentation: 750ml Bordeaux Elite broad shoulder edition. Natural cork.
Vineyard Age: 46 years (Monastrell).
Vineyard Characteristics: Located between 700 and 800 meters above sea level on stony and calcareous soils with maximum yields of 1.5kg per vine.
Harvest: During September and October. Grapes harvested by hand.
Production: During the initial phase the wine is subjected to a process of cold maceration. This is followed by traditional, carbonic semi-maceration in stainless steel deposits, moving the musts at controlled temperatures of 20ºC to 25ºC. The malolactic fermentation takes place in the barrel.
